  12. This is a pain not a good.  If you want more memory in your board, you have to
  13. take out and trash or sell at a loss 2mb of memory you already own! that is not
  14. good.  If they were crafty they should have used the 1X4s (dense chips) and
  15. had a jumper to select 2,4, or 8 megabyte configurations.  That way someone 
  16. could just add more memory to the existing memory and take no losses.  Also,
  17. word to the wise...don't buy the vxl-30 accl. with the 68882 in it, it is not
  18. worth it.  just buy the fpu-less board then insert a 68881 which you can buy
  19. for a song.

  21. Here are also some of the specs of the VXL-30 which I wish I would have had:

  23. 68030 25/40/or I believe 50 MHz  (note: you can install a 25,40,or 50 MHz   
  24.                                         processor in any of these boards)

  26. 68882 at 25 MHz but you can install any 68882/1 at 50 MHz or below (does not

  28. can access 32bit ram in 68000 mode

  37. - also, the cup can be run from 16 to 50 Mhz
  38. - about the 68881 tip, Microbotics suggests this in the documentation of the
  39. accelator and note that the 68881 is only 10% slower the the '882, the one 
  40. they sell!
