- d German 2000-A with a 1Meg ram expansion card(half Meg on
- board).
-
- I have recently bought some 1/256k chips (61256) to boost me up to
- 1.5Meg(from 1Meg).
-
- I installed the chips -> No Problem.
-
- To get it working -> NO!
-
- I was told to pull out the centre jumper on the expansion card to activate
- the extra memory.

- 2 4 6 8 10 Pull out 5/6
-
- The problem is that it shows the extra RAM but practically no programs
- work,the machine gurus.
-
- I rang Commodore who said pull out Jumper 5/6 and put in 9/10.
- I just got the old grey screen blues.
-
- After hours of FUN...(@#*@$!) yanking out jumpers etc. I feel like ripping
- the little legs off the "61256's"
-
- I have also been told that the MC68000 processors which came out with the
- earlier A2000's (B4 AGNUS & GARY)could not accommodate the extra memory
- It has a "masked bit" (Apparently with 'OB26' printed on it).
-
- But why is the expansion card "1Meg" when the machine can't handle it (Joke
- from Commodore) ?
-
- Does anyone know how to fix this.
- It would be greatly appreciated.
-
- Thanx
