-
- I though that they were going for about $3000.
-
- There are several choices for RISC if you want to go that route.
-
- MIPS R4000 is respectable and was supported until Intel convinced
- everyone that P5 with perform as well without radical code changes
- (probably true)
-
- SPARC or SuperSPARC - Option of running SUNos/Solaris
-
- Power/PC - Put the same uP that Apple AND IBM have running and run
- there OS and get those apps. Then flip back to AmigaDOS.
-
- ALPHA - VMS and OSF/1 now running (at least VMS is beta testing RIGHT
- NOW) and Windows NT. There is internal code in the ALPHA that changes
- for each OS. An amiga version may best run on an OSF/1 or Windows
- version.
-
- 88100/88110 - Well, a respected design, but Motorola is having trouble
- pushing it to 50Mhz according to rumor. Rumor also has it that
- resources are being pushed to the PowerPC.
-
- I would rather see C= focus on getting an 060 board ASAP. Not 1.5
- years after everyone else does. The modular design should expedite
- matters.
