- The upgrade is probably worth it. In Oslo this weekend there was an annual event
- called ASO (Amiga Symposium Oslo). Vesa Meskanen of realsoft was ther to show
- us the new version 2.0. It`s definitely a major upgrade. F.ex. Mapping of
- different pictures on each frame (animation on a cone?), Gravity and weighth
- mapping, handlers for all mappings (bump, textures, etc.) so that you can put
- in a function that for instance varies with time. Own script language, a scene
- can be saved as an ascii file. Realsoft plans to port the rendring engine to
- different platforms. You can then export your ascii files, and render them on
- a sparc, (maybe an alfa based digital machine) , and afterwards bring the
- pictures back to the amiga.
-
- There was a lot of other features as well, (Objects changing their form as
- they accelerated along a path, and a lot more.) I`m not a 3d artist, and dont
- even use this program, so dont ask me. People that have used Real3d, Imagine
- etc, were amazed. A lot of the new stuff is things that have formerly only
- been found on silicone Grapics machines.
