- First off I don't get this emotional over what CBM does or doesn't do. They
- are just another company trying to make a buck.
- After pondering all the new announcements of the last two days, I too would
- have to agree that lack of RTG is my biggest disappointment. I'm not really
- surprised the AGA chips won't retrofit into the 3000, even though I thought
- they would have at least done a ZorroIII or CPU Slot AGA board, but it doesn't
- appear they are going to. If RTG was available I wouldn't' think twice about
- keeping my 3000, but with RTG still a ways off it looks like the 4000 is the
- only realistic choice if I want better graphics. I do think CBM will offer
- a power up solution, but those deals are never quite as good as they appear,
- but it is better than nothing.

-
- Technically I don't see how they could do it on the 500/2000, unless they did
- something like GVP (ie. put it on an 32bit accelerator). I think it could be
- done on the 3000, but I don't believe theres a big enough 3000 user base to
- make it worth their while, at least in CBMs mind. I think theres a good chance
- a 3rd party solution will appear.
-

-
- I think I'm missing something here, why should CBM produce something that already
- exists in the 3rd party world? RTG is the answer not some Kludge box.

-
- Well I guess CBM should never come out with new technology and if they do they
- should upgrade their existing userbase for free. Personally I know of no other
- computer company that treats their user base as well as CBM. CBM bends over
- backwards in OS compatibility and hardware power up deals.
