- Hard to tell. I own (i.e. originals) Real3D, Draw4D Pro, Imagine, and
- Caligari 2 (yech) and I use Real3D all the time (the 68040 helps though
- and if I did not have such a board, I would stay with Draw4D Pro), and
- I mean ALL the time. I wouldn't want to stick my foot in my mouth by
- saying that whatever the upgrade cost, I will pay it, but I really
- believe that the program deserves the enthusiasm it receives from its
- users. And version 2 (besides the name change, which I did not know about
- - Thanks) will be more than just a simple upgrade. How about the following
- specs:
-
- As many view windows as you desire, each with its own scaling,
- orientation and point of view;
-
- + an extra window in which a Forth interpreter awaits your
- object creation/manipulation commands
-
- + particle animation;
-
- + spline paths for object creation and animation;
-
- + a totally new movement path definition system;
-
- + faster rendering (although I wish they would give
- us selective ray-tracing a la Lightwave II to speed
- up rendering times);
-
- and more...
-
- I log on every day on their support BBS and will upload the official
- product announcement as soon as it is released. Version 2 should be
- available as of December 1st if I remember correctly.
