- That's nice, Russel, that the *future* is more of an issue to you than
- *yesterday's* transfer speeds. While I agree that in the *future* V.FAST
- will be on top of the world, *today* HST is faster in unidirectional
- transfers than V.32bis. And most of those V.32bis modems on the market
- *today* are *not* upgradable to V.FAST. The name of the game for the
- NEC or filebone hub is the ole long distance call. And the fact is that
- HST modems transfer faster unidrectionally, and have for many years.

- I know for a fact that FrontDoor can, via an external program, support
- bi-directional protocols. I've not checked the status of D'Broke 1.38,
- but I seem to recall external protocol options, or external program
- options at least.

- Dammit. Get out of this echo and go work on Welmat! I'm desperately
- waiting for it to be "released" (beyond .47) so I can dump TrapDoor
- which I feel is the D'Bridge of the Amiga (looks slick until you start
- using it.) :) I've been lurking in WELMAT for well over a year
- and still don't know enough about the betas to run the latest...
