- | What the original poster was looking for was a VT240/340 emulator. There
- | are **LIGHT-YEARS** of differences between the VT220 and VT240. VT240 is
- | as big a step up from VT220 as the A4000 is from the A1000.

- Then why the subject: "VT220/VT340 emulator"? "Someone" entered "VT220"! :-)

- As for diffs between a VT220 and VT240, it's a matter of preference, and
- "better" is an opinion. The garbage keyboards render all of DEC's terminals
- for the past 8 years "unusable" in my opinion; I (and my company) have ceased
- buying DEC terminals (and we've been a "DEC shop" for over 20 years). We've
- found better value with X terminals (and even old Sun-3/60 boxes running only
- the Xkernel-1.4).

- | The programs I mentioned for the Mac and PC handle all of the bitmapped

- | anything for the Amiga that does this.
-
- True, but "who cares?" for Regis and Sixel? The world (from my perspective)
- has gone "X" and PostScript; anything else is (essentially) archaic, though
- HPGL is still useful for plotters for pertinent applications.
