  29. It is  C-Kermit 4E(072)  running on a SG Personal Iris using Irix.

  36. Oh, I'm always in the directory where the files are BEFORE I give my kermit
  37. commands. And as far as I know, I've never been "in" kermit - I just issue
  38. the commands to get kermit to act.  (That was what I was told, and they work
  39. fine...but no one has said anything about getting "into" kermit. I am not a
  40. programmer, so perhaps I should stay out until I know what I am doing?)

  44. And what mode is that, in VLT terms?  I see a  Host is Server  command but
  45. how can I tell which machine is which?  (or why they have to be switched?)

  52. Ok, file size I *think* I understand if you are referring to packet size.
  53. Block Check I have no understanding of and therefore cannot set it 
  54. intelligently on either side of this transfer. :<

  56. Please forgive me for asking "why" questions, but understanding why something
  57. works the way it does helps me to remember HOW to adjust things in the future.
  58. It's just the way I learn complex concepts. :>
