- The speed of a DAT, or any TAPE for that matter, and the data-density of it
- are not related to each other. This means that it is possible to use
- DATs at f.e. 5 times the usual speed while keeping the data-density (measured
- as the amount of data per unit *tapelength*) the same.
- Of course that would be out of the question when using tapes for storing or
- retrieving music (unless you like to listen to the Chipmunks), but it is
- perfectly OK use tapes at higher speeds when they only contain data.
