  19. I'll bet you have the correct maximum cylinder with this technique however
  20. cumbersome.  Different manufacturers describe their drives with varying
  21. interpretations of what constitutes a megabyte: some say 1,000,000 and some
  22. mean 1,048,576 - there's no standard in the drive business; some also may
  23. further deceive you by quoting unformatted capacity which is much higher
  24. than formatted.  The drive may have it's bad blocks written on a label
  25. affixed to the top of the drive - if this is blank, you may have a drive
  26. with no hard errors.

  28. Instead of all this guess work, tell us what drive, manufacturer, model you
  29. own and someone is sure to have it too.
