  17. It does indeed exist, and was ported by George Hesseman himself. It worked
  18. after a fashion, but for some reason font compression was broken. I have
  19. a slightly updated version to which I have added support for George's
  20. fontlibrary format and which has a working font compression scheme.

  22. It isn't entirely finished yet and I'm not sure when it will be since I have
  23. 60 more pages of Thesis to write in about 1 week!

  25. I'll try to upload it somewhere if people are interested, and I'd particularly
  26. like to hear any encouraging noises from George Hesseman.

  28. P.S. I hope to add caching of the font library directories in the near future
  29. so that they aren't continually reopened each time a font is requested, but
  30. I'm not sure when I'll have time!

  38. It could be that the fonts you're using were generated with non optimal
  39. settings in mf.modes. Changing some of the setings for extra blackening
  40. and o-correction etc. can have a quite drastic effect on the final quality
  41. of the fonts on a particular printer.
