- Here's another HPDJ/Prowrite problem, one that's turned me off of
- Prowrite for a long time. Sorry if this is an old question; I just
- started getting into the nets.
-
- Anyway, my problem is missing pixels. Along the left edge of every
- letter there is a line of missing pixels. I've tried everything from
- threshold settings to different printer drivers (excluding DJHelper-- I
- don't have money for something like this unless it's absolutely
- necessary, and it sounds like it isn't) and nothing gets rid of this
- problem.
-
- I could also complain about the speed, but that's the DJ's fault. It's
- slow on graphics.... Isn't it? Can it _not_ be slow? It's always slow
- with Prowrite because it always outputs graphics. Could it do better
- than 1 minute 30 seconds a page?
-
- I bought Prowrite because I wanted a word processor comparable to my
- school's Macintoshes (pardon my language). At school I could type in
- stories in any font I wanted, any size, and any style, very fluently,
- then print them out before my lunch period ended so I could get to
- class. I don't have that kind of fluency with Prowrite because of the
- printing (though there's nothing wrong with the writing part-- I've done
- it before and I'll do it again).
-
- And again I hesitate because of the spotted edges.
-
- Could someone help me make this $140 (I bought it 6 months ago)
- investment worthwhile?
-
- Thanks.
