- Two observations from using RISC OS 3.10 on my A440/1:
-
- 1) When I switch on, a huge blue floppy disc is displayed on screen, with
- what looks like a !System folder icon on it. Also the bottom few pixels
- of the picture look to be corrupted. What is this for? It waits for a key
- press before booting, but does not appear to do anything. I can only
- guess that it is a prompt to insert a System disc. No modules are unplugged,
- so I assume that it is caused by an undocumented CMOS bit. I could do
- a power on reset, but I would prefer to know what it is for and what
- caused its sudden appearance.
-
- 2) Occasionally (3 times so far) I have been going about my business in
- the desktop, when I have got the error "!!! CAM Map Corrupt!!!" (note
- the exclamation marks), which promptly kills the task manager. Any
- clues to what causes these would be much appreciated.
-
- Simon.
