  10. OK, I admit it, I didn't read any of the recent postings about viruses,
  11. as I haven't got any (or so I thought...).

  13. So, this evening I switch on the old Arc (for the first time in weeks)
  14. (after all, it _is_ supposed to be warm weather still) and it's like
  15. a different machine.  My VIDC modes are changed (from the ModeEd
  16. modified ones), and there's this anoying message whenever a !boot or
  17. !run file is activated.  Something about being 'a friendly virus'
  18. (whatever that is), to be careful using illeagal software, and a
  19. generation number of 17 or 18.
  20.  
  21. Oh yes, and now some applications freeze up, even _ones I've written
  22. myself_.  That really annoys me -- how can I develop applications
  23. when the thing freezes up?

  25. And I haven't even got any illegal software.

  27. So, what can I do about it?
