- I haven't tried it with cu, but I would expect problems from other
- (half-remembered) postings in this newsgroup.

- The ATE is the only thing supplied with the computer which gives you
- the possiblilty of using your zmodem with outgoing calls. For incoming
- calls, it doesn't matter, since you don't have cu in controll of the port
- anyway.
-
- However, probably your best bet is to compile pcomm (a unix variant
- of ProComm), which can be configured to work with multiple external
- protocols. You'll have to spend some time within the program menus setting
- up the communications parameters for your zmodem, but it should be do-able.
- With that, you can throw out the telephone manager and ATE. ATE tends to be
- rather slow, anyway, while procomm is relatively quick.
-
- However, I usually use kermit for outgoing calls, since the systems
- which I am calling are more likely to support kermit than x/y/z-modem, and
- the files make it through without problems with controll characters trying
- to do things to various parts of the communications pipeline between me and
- the machine which I am calling.
-
- Good Luck
- DoN.
