- If you, Mark, read this as a flame, that is what it intended to be!
-
- Do you realize how many bytes you're requesting -- figure about 50K
- per file/part! There are people who freely contribute their time
- and expenses in maintaining a mail network and/or a news network that
- can be easily destroyed in fulfilling request like this. In some
- places place, make that most places, telephone charges have to ab-
- sorbed by system operators like myself and many others. Your request
- boarders on the ridiculous and absurb!
-
- And, besides, "uunet", I am sure (I just checked) has every one of
- the files that you request. Call them yourself: 1 900 GOT SRCS.
- You will be charged $0.50 per minute for the call by your telephone
- company, and believe me, that is cheap!
-
- Since you have quoted the "Index", your must have also seen the
- article --

- Newsgroups: comp.sources.misc,comp.sources.d
- From: kent@sparky.imd.sterling.com (Kent Landfield)
- Subject: v32INF1: Introduction to comp.sources.misc
-
- If you've read _that_ article, only 100 lines were devoted to Access-
- ing the Archives. If you haven't, then maybe you should!
-
- Finally, if you're using the 'UseNet' news, then you should know that
- you don't mess around with news headers and what the various lines
- are intended to mean. `` Followup-To: '' is *not* intended for your
- own personal 'Email' address -- it is the newsgroups to which followup
- articles are to be posted! Read the quarterly postings in ...
- < news.announce.newusers > -- you might learn something.
-
- Yes, I am posting this as well as 'Email'ng an exact copy of this
- same to you. This request was totally absurb and I would personally
- cease the continued delivery of such amount of files that might be
- intended to pass through this system.
