  26.   This is sSMTP, a program that replaces sendmail on workstations
  27. that should send their mail via a departmental mailhub.  This
  28. program accepts mail and sends it to the mailhub, optionally
  29. replacing the domain in the From: line with a different one.
  30.  
  31.   It uses no external confuguration information, and so can be 
  32. installed by copying the (right!) binary to a given machine.
  33. All configuration is done via parameters to make and/or in the 
  34. Makefile.

  36.   This is not a complete sendmail.  It is only a program to post
  37. mail to a mailhub for people who don't **want** a complete sendmail.

  39. Type of systems supported:
  40.   Berkeley-derived, or ones othewise using /user/lib/sendmail as a
  41. mail transfer agent.
  42.   In use on SunOS 4.1.1 and Ultrix 4.2, tested briefly on Aix 3.2 and
  43. NeXT.
