  13. I have noticed this problem recently, and even when I was at Carnegie Mellon.

  15. Messages, when it checkpoints a message being composed, checkpoints it not once
  16. but three or four times in a row rapidly, and sometimes it checkpoints it in
  17. this way two or three times in a six second period.  So you get ten or more
  18. checkpoints when only one was necessary.

  20. Is this a known bug? Is there something I can do to fix this (besides turning
  21. off checkpointing)? It's not so bad now that I have my own disk but at CMU when
  22. I was using an AFS machine it was murder . . .
