  12. Bacground Launcher for the PC?

  14. I am looking for a utility, commercial or shareware, the will 
  15. launch programs on a set schedule and will run in the 
  16. background.  I have looked at the cron like programs, but they 
  17. seem to require that the utility be in the forground to work.  
  18. You cannot shell to DOS and have it still lauch programs.
  19. They seem to be designed more for unattended machines than ones 
  20. that are in use, which is what I am looking for.  I cannot use 
  21. a Windows product as the foreground program will not run in 
  22. Windows.
  23.     What I am trying to do is to automatically ftp download 
  24. data files in the background on a schedule while the forground 
  25. program continues.  Perhaps there is some sort of background 
  26. ftp product for the PC?  I appreciate any input.  Thanks
