  15. I am attempting to install the NCSA communication s/w on an IBM PC 55 notebook
  16. computer. 
  17. In the Configuration file config.tel there is a slot where I am supposed to give
  18. the video description. The choices are cga, ega, pga, ... vga50. I have selected
  19. vga50. ( Is this correct ?)

  21. I have also set bios=yes

  23. Now:
  24.     Ftp, finger, work perfectly OK.

  26. When Telnet is executed I am given a message

  28.      annot recognize video type- Cannot save screen
  29. press ESC to exit or any other key to continue.

  31. On continuing:
  32.     sometimes it returns with timeout
  33.     at other times it works OK- i get the login prompt etc.
  34.     But the terminal mode is NOK even if I set the TERM to vt100.

  36. On setting bios=no nothing appears on the display, but for the prompt.
  37. But login etc proceeds. ( only nothing is echoed on the DISPLAY)

  39. Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong ?
