  15. We're running an IBM 4381 and have recently installed TCPIP for MVS V2R2.
  16. The Telnet server in this package *refuses* to do any echoing regardless of how 
  17. the telnet client begs for it during the initial session negotiation.
  18. Goes like this:

  20. Telnet client       MVS Telnet Server

  22.   Do Echo
  23.                       Won't Echo
  24.   Do Echo
  25.                       Won't Echo

  27.  (Gives up)

  29. According to the appropriate RFC:s (as i understand them), an orthodox Telnet 
  30. server is not required to supply echo but other Telnets i know do so anyway, 
  31. worse, a lot of our users expect us to supply echo.( hiding passwords also 
  32. becomes a problem if the client has to supply a local echo). Is it possible to 
  33. do something about this?
