- We have in place a Network Distributed Sniffer with 5 servers and
- 2 consoles. In addition, we have a HP 400 workstation running
- HP OpenView Network Node Manager. We would like to send SNMP traps
- from the Distributed Sniffer server to the Open View software,
- and have it display the traps. On the Distributed Sniffer Server,
- We ran "ipinit -p" and set the SNMP trap address to the HP openview
- node. Traps are indeed received by that node, and the trapd.log
- file contains messages that look like:
-

- lid SNMPTrap packet from agent 143.202.54.6 source A pid -1

- But, the event is not registered to the Open View program.
