- Ummm, not quite true Geoff. We support symbolic links to
- directories only, but they may reside anywhere on *any* file-system.
- Of course, if the actual directory is not mountable you don't get the
- directory, but that behaviour seems desirable. We do not support
- symbolic links to files.

- links, we feel that the resource tradeoff involved justifies this
