  31. if you're using System 7.x, you're using at least v.57 of Appletalk. 
  32. Some network software installers put a newer (i think 57.0.3 is the
  33. latest) version into your SYstem file.

  35. perhaps something in your System file got corrupted when the installer
  36. for Appletalk 57 blew up on you - have you tried other macs on your
  37. network?
