- if you're using System 7.x, you're using at least v.57 of Appletalk.
- Some network software installers put a newer (i think 57.0.3 is the
- latest) version into your SYstem file.

- perhaps something in your System file got corrupted when the installer
- for Appletalk 57 blew up on you - have you tried other macs on your
- network?
