  15. We are having problems with papif and a LW IIg when getting
  16. the pagecount.

  18. 1. Papif opens connection
  19. 2. Papif sends with EOF:
  20. statusdict begin pagecount (*) print ==
  21. 3. LWIIg responds with correct pagecount
  22. 4. Papif sends job with postscript error (intentional)
  23. 5. LWIIg reads in postscript
  24. 6. Papif sends EOF:
  25. 7. LWIIg sends (expected result):
  26. %%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: nerps ]%%
  27. 8. LWIIg sends (expected result):
  28. %%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
  29. 9. LWIIg sends EOF
  30. 10. Papif sends with EOF:
  31. statusdict begin pagecount (*) print ==

  33. Now the fun begins.  LWIIg never returns the requestet page
  34. count.  Papif sends a SendData(TReq), LWIIg sends a SendData(TReq),
  35. Papif sends SendStatus(TReq), LWIIg sends Status(TResp) with:
  36. "status: waiting; source: EtherTalk", few Tickles here and there.
  37. This will repeat for 5 minutes, when the LWIIg will send:
  38. [ Error: timeout; OffendingCommand: timeout ]
  39. and the connection will close down.

  41. Note when papif sent the second pagecount request, it
  42. did send a EOF.  A LWNT will do the correct thing.  I understand
  43. we are feeding it bad postscript, but that is the easiest way
  44. to create the hang.

  46. I have the packet dump if anyone is interested.  Is anyone
  47. running accounting with IIg's that does or does not have the
  48. same problem?
