- I'm running CAP 6.100 on a DECstation 5000 under Ultrix 4.2.
- Printing used to work fine, but now whenever I try to lpr something to
- a papif-connected printer, I get the following in my lpr log file:
-
- open: ln0: Permission denied
- NBPInit: DDPOpenSocket error 13
- papif: Starting job for root@mchip00 at Mon May 4 22:58:24 1992 on printer Hipp
- ocrates Blue IIg:LaserWriter@NYU Ether
- NBP nbpFcn: nbpInit not called/usr/lib/lpd: blue: Mon May 4 22:58:24 1992: Job
- 0, Retry #1 in 15 secs
-
- I don't think this is the documented "can't open /dev/ln0" problem
- from the CAP60.README file, since the /dev/fp/* files exist and everything
- else works. I'm stumped to figure out what's going on. Everything else
- works, including papif when I run it manually; it just doesn't work when
- invoked by lpr. Anybody have any idea what might be wrong?
