- LocalTalk is rated at 230.4 Kbs whereas Ethernet is 10 Mbs. That's
- roughly 50 times, but don't expect 50 times improvement. 2 to 3 times
- is more like it. Where you will really see the benefit is when multiple
- people are using the line. LocalTalk drags to a crawl when two or three
- people are doing file transfers, but Ethernet won't even notice.

- We are also in the process of converting to Ethernet. Not terribly cheap,
- but a lot nicer for performance. It also has the side benefit of reducing
- reliance on our Shiva FastPaths (which haven't been the most reliable
- piece of network equipment I've worked with).
