  12. This has got to be one of the most FAQ in this group, but I did not see a     
  13. FAQ list, so here goes... (If this is already answered, please point me
  14. in that direction)

  16. We are using AppleTalk and FastPath 5s to get to ethernet to access VMS.

  18. We are considering purchasing ethernet cards for each Mac in order to 
  19. increase speed.  This is fairly significant in cost when we start talking
  20. 200-300 users.

  22. My question is: are there any other significant issues other than speed 
  23. vs. cost?  Obviously, it would be cheaper to stay with AppleTalk, but 
  24. we would gain performance going straight ethernet.

  26. What kind of speed gain are we talking about here?  I think AT is rated
  27. around 238(?) KB/sec, and ethernet is supposed to me more like 4 MB/sec.
  28. What are people's real-world experiences in performance gains?
