  19. GCC/G++ can certainly be used in commercial apps.  In fact, GCC is the
  20. only compiler (as far as I know) available for the NeXT.  The
  21. restrictions of the GPL keep you from using the source code (e.g. the
  22. source to GCC) in your commercial application.  Using the output from
  23. the compiler in a commercial app most certainly is allowed.  GCC was
  24. used to create the BSDI version of BSD386, which is (or was) definitely
  25. a commercial product.  As for the libraries, these are covered by the
  26. separate GLPL, which has different terms from the standard GPL.  See the
  27. GLPL for details (should be included with the GNU library source).

  35. Zortech C++ for OS/2 is already available, as is JPI.  Both of these are
  36. 16-bit OS/2 1.x compilers, however. As far as I know, GNU g++ is the only
  37. 32-bit C++ compiler for OS/2 2.0.  IBM and Watcom both make 32-bit C
  38. compilers for 2.0, but neither has C++ yet.  IBM has announced that they
  39. *will* have C++.  I haven't heard anything from Watcom.
