- Well, I'd change that a bit. You only need to run routed if you need to
- listen or participate in RIP announcements on your local network interfaces
- (ethernet, token ring, serial, whatever). There are plenty of networks that
- either don't broadcast local routing information, or don't use RIP to do it,
- so unless you need routed, I wouldn't bother wasting the memory and CPU to
- run it.

- I'm not familiar with any problems with ICMP responses, so I'll defer that
- question to someone else..
