- Hi. I just installed (well, actually, re-installed) OS/2 on my
- Northgate 386/20 with a Seagate ST/01 and a new SCSI harddrive.
- The installation went smoothly. I then added a few extra partitions
- in the extended partition for Linux, and now:
-
- Fdisk (and fdiskpm, and fdisk /query) all just exit. They don't
- say anything, they don't do anything, they just exit. The
- exit status is 1.
-
- It *is* getting invoked, because if I try to run it from a Dos window,
- it says, "This program cannot be run in a Dos session", and the title-bar
- temporarily flashes to fdisk.com.
-
- My disk configuration:
-
-
- Bootmanager, 1 mb, primary
- DOS 5.0 FAT, 40 mb, primary
- OS/2 2.0 HPFS, 200mb, primary (system lives here)
- DOS FAT, 300 mb, extended (D:)
- Linux/Minix, 64mb, extended
- Linux/Minix, 64mb, extended
- Linux/Minix, 16mb, extended
-
- which gives me the maximum number of partitions.
-
- Can anybody shed some light here?
-
-
- Another problem: (unrelated, I think, but I guess there's really
- no telling what's going on inside that putty-colored box):
-
- Basica is thoroughly dysfunctional. It either flashes the row of PF-key
- descriptions, and disallows keyboard input (although you can kill it by
- going back to the desktop) or hangs the machine entirely. (Please don't
- flame me for using basica, it was not my choice.)
-
-
- TIA...
