- I was sorely disappointed OS/2 2.0 did not come with drivers for my
- printer, the NEC Pinwriter P5200. I tried many different Epson (
- compatible by my manual's standards), but none of them worked. I then
- (accidentally) ran across the "Win-OS/2 printer drivers", which included
- my printer. I installed my driver, selected the lpt2.os2 port (my printer
- is on lpt2), and selected setup. I got "nec24pin.drv is not a valid
- driver" error or something similar to that. I tried another Win-OS/2
- driver at random and got the same error. I assumed it was a bug in OS/2.
- Today, I got the addprn.zip fix off software.watson.ibm.com, which
- addresses exactally my problem. However, it did not fix a thing. I
- looked in my \os2\mdos\winos2 directory and the control.exe is the
- new version's date, so I assume it installed correctly. If I understand
- OS/2's help index correctly, OS/2 can use the Win-OS/2 driver through
- the IBM Null driver. I REALLY want to get my printer working, so any
- help would be appreciated.
