- The reason that it takes 'forever' to start is that you use separate sessions
- for all the programs. Os/2 has to start a windows kernel each time you
- start a windows session. This takes some time, and eat a couple of megabytes
- as well. Using a lot of memory will make everything sluggish, because
- of the swapping.
- The only reason I know of to run win-programs in separate sessions, is to protect
- them from each other. This can be useful when developing or dealing with
- buggy apps, as one nasty windows program is capable of messing up all
- windows programs in the same session.
- If your programs usually don't make trouble, run them in the same session.
- That way, only the first win-program will take a long time to start.
- The other programs won't need to start a kernel, so they will start in
- a few seconds. You will also get less swapping, as you will need less memory.
- Use separate sessions only if you have a program that usually mess up
- win-os2.
