- No to the first point. The existing drivers already support speed
- acceleration, so I'm not sure what you're driving at there.

- I don't know how the mouse situation will evolve, but here's the
- problem. On the PC some systems have two mouse buttons, some have
- three. IBM was in a no win situation here. If they designed their
- driver to support all three buttons, software developers would start
- writing with that third button in mind and people with just two mouse
- buttons would find that they couldn't do certain things. On the other
- hand, if IBM put its foot down and said, "PCs shall have two mouse
- buttons," then there's a common standard, and developers can expect
- that everybody will have two mouse buttons and write accordingly.
