- I don't know what happened, but I was working on a Novell drive, when
- suddenly a lot of my desktop objects disappeared. They just weren't
- there all of a sudden, and an attempt to open an OS/2 window resulted
- in an "out of memory" error--though this was clearly erroneous since I
- was able to run Emacs (one of the few icons left on my desktop). Things
- deteriorated slowly until finally nothing responded and I had to warm
- boot (w/o shutdown).
-
- Anyway, my System Folder, along with everything in it is GONE. The shadow
- folder "Productivity" that I had in a desktop folder is GONE. The shadows
- of some games I had in their own desktop folder are still there, but the
- icon is a "broken link" icon. The files themselves do not appear to be
- on the disk anywhere (though I'm not sure where they are supposed to be).
- The subdirectories of "OS!2 2.0 Desktop" are still there, but the System
- Folder isn't. My System Setup, Startup, all that stuff are GONE GONE GONE.
- All my shadows of OS/2 and DOS windows and full-screen sessions . . . GONE.
-
- How can I a) get this stuff back, or b) failing that, re-install the originals
- from the install disks without re-installing all of OS/2?
