- I have a DOS program called 'periodic' which shows information graphically
- about the periodic table of elements. It runs fine under DOS-full screen,
- but under a window, OS/2 said 'not enough memory to support this app...'
-
- Fine. I don't really want to run it in a window, but the problem was that
- I couldn't kill the damn dos-app. The title window said 'suspended : periodic
- .exe' double-clicking on the upper-left box brought up the Yes, no, help
- dialog and choosing yes. did nothing. Fine. Ctr-ESC. Select the dos-app
- and hit DEL key. Same dialog, same response. It just sits there. Fine.
- Ctr-ESC, bring up pop-up menu for dos-app, and choose 'close.' Same dialog,
- same response. Shit. Ok. Shutdown system (because I was finished for the
- night anyway). "Shut down???" Choose yes, and I get the same dialog for the
- dos-app. I chose yes, and OS/2 just sits there. I *couldn't shut down OS/2
- because of this archain DOS app!!!!* So, I had to give the 3-fingered
- salute, and do the Alt-F1 trick on startup so the damn thing would hose
- me again!!! **This is really stupid.** I should have instantly been able to
- close that damn app. Anyone have any comments/similar experiences/ or
- suggestions.
