  20. OVERVIEW

  22. IBM is initiating a Beta program for future versions of
  23. their LAN Systems products.  The software is being made
  24. available solely for the purpose of testing and develop-
  25. ment feedback and should NOT be used in production.

  27. The following product is now available through the
  28. Beta program:

  30. *   OS/2 SPM/2 2.0
  31.  
  32.  
  33. SPM/2 2.0 is an integrated package of powerful facilities
  34. that allow you to monitor resources such as CPU, RAM, disk
  35. and more on your local and remote IBM Operating System/2
  36. 2.0. SPM/2's ability to graph this resource information
  37. allows you to look at "live" data as well as "prerecorded"
  38. data for any monitored workstation in your LAN.

  41. *   Collects critical resource utilization data: CPU,
  42.     memory, swap file, files, FAT/HPFS cache, physical
  43.     disk, printer, communication port
  44.  
  45. *   Records performance data to disk for processing at
  46.     a later time
  47.  
  48. *   Collects data from multiple nodes in a single
  49.     recording session
  50.  
  51. *   Provides a real-time graphical representation of how
  52.     system resources are being used (CPU, disk, RAM and
  53.     swap activity) as well as the ability to playback
  54.     previously recorded data.
  55.  
  56. *   Produces detailed resource utilization reports
  57.     (from recorded data) that can be summarized by
  58.     workstation, application, process or thread
  59.  
  60. *   Provides in-depth OS/2 2.0 memory analysis information
  61.     (including working set and a view of OS/2 control
  62.     blocks)
  63.  
  64. *   Monitoring of remote OS/2 LAN Requester as well as
  65.     Servers

  70. To obtain a Beta version of SPM/2 2.0, do one of
  71. the following:

  73. *   In the U.S., call 1-800-IBM-3040 - You will be charged
  74.     $30 for reproduction and distribution costs.

  76. *   Outside the U.S., contact your IBM Marketing
  77.     Representative.
