- what would be really nice would be an inceremental uninstall
- facility .... sort of a variant on incremental install with
- the same facilities to select what you wanted to keep (or
- what you wanted to delete) which then deleted files instead
- of reading them. (to make it even nicer it would do this
- without having to go through all 10 disks!)
-
- one of the (many) good things about the emtex TeX package
- is that its divided into a large number of subunits and
- each subunit has a control file for a remove utility. so
- if, after building the font libraries, you decide you need
- to get some disk space back you can simply say
-
- REMOVE MF
-
- (or something like that) and it will remove everything from
- the MF sub-package - if you need it again later just unzip to
- file from floppy again.
-
- i'm sure someone(at IBM ?) who knows what files are needed for
- what could bash out a quick REXX script to do this (ok so it
- wouldn't have the neat graphical interface :-)
-
- as a complete fall back option ... how about a list of all the
- optionally loadable files so you can zap *everything* optional
- and re-selective install from there.
