  12. Do you remember all those complaints about not being able
  13. to install OS/2 from anything but the A: drive?

  15. And then IBM produced the instb utility.

  17. Well I've just seen over on one of the msdos groups
  18. a couple of DOS users who were complaining about not
  19. being able to install MSDOS 5.0 from drive B:.

  21. (For the same reason you can't istall OS/2 from B:, of
  22. course.  They are both operating systems and so have to be
  23. booted to work!)

  25. The posters were moaning about how nasty old IBM (yes, IBM)
  26. must be trying to make them buy IBM hardware by only
  27. making DOS boot from the "wrong drive".  I suppose they
  28. thought PS/2s were different.

  30. I bet those guys love Windows; after all, it can be installed
  31. from B: and dos'n't involve nasty old IBM.

  33. Oh boy, is NT going to be fun.  All those hardware and user
  34. problems that OS/2 is blamed for are bound to be far worse
  35. with NT.  (I don't mean to slur NT.  NT will be bigger, so
  36. it's bound to confuse novices more!)
