- If you install the GT16MB(2) patch then it will use the extra RAM as swap
- space. My SWAPPER.DAT file has not grown over 1 meg since I went to 24meg.
- It does give the impression that the system is stopping and doing nothing
- for short periods every now and again but you must consider that it used to
- thrash the disk during those times before the RAM upgrade.

- BTW from page 77 of RedBook 1:
- .... If this second requirement is satisfied and the disk controller can
- handle 32-bit addresses larger than 16MB, then all of memory is used by
- OS/2 for programs and data. If it cannot, then the OS/2 page manager
- allocates all of the memory above 16MB as a paging cache to be used before
- paging to the disk. This substitution is a good use of the memory above
- 16MB, but not as good as using it directly.
