- A while back I read some crap on the network about how NT supposedly
- ran dos/etc. apps while still in the same text window (someone was
- complaining that OS/2 "hides" the cmd.exe window and brings up another
- for the VDM session after launching a DOS program from the cmd.exe session).
- I am just wondering, is this a fundamental
- part of the way OS/2 emulates DOS sessions, or could the above
- feature actually be implemented without too much trouble? Namely, launching
- a DOS app from cmd.exe (or 4os2.exe) and having the output of that DOS app
- remain in the "parent" cmd.exe window.
-
- I'm just wondering. I find no need for change, but that person's complaining
- on the net sparked some curiosity...
