- I'm not positive if this is what you are asking, if not please correct me.
- If your question is why can't the regular OS/2 V2 Install process look on
- the Hard Drive for some of its files, the answer is it can. The OS/2 V2
- install process supports a feature called redirection. Basically this
- allows the Install process to look for the install disks on a drive other
- than on the A: drive. The intent was to support Install Over a LAN Server
- but the redirected drive can be any valid medium; e.g. a CD ROM. I am
- working on an Install Process that uses redirection to a VM Host System.
- What some users have done is copy over all the Install Disks to an existing
- Hard Disk partition and then use redirection to this drive.
