- I've run into an installation problem on the following hardware:
-
- Toshiba 3300SL notebook (25 MHz 386SL) w/ 8 meg + 64K CPU cache
-
-
- The problem is that I can't seem to make OS/2 recognize an Imsi PC
- Stylus pointing device. IBM is looking into the problem but have no
- suggestion at the moment, other than to switch mice [a definite
- possibility, as this one is brand new, but I like it and would like to
- keep it if possible].
-
- Symptom: OS/2 *does* give me the mouse selection menu during
- installation. OS/2 does not recognize the mouse at any point during
- installation. When OS/2 is rebooted, the error message
-
-
- SYS1201: The device driver "C:\OS2\MDOS\VMOUSE.SYS " specified
- in the DEVICE command on line 58 of the CONFIG.SYS file was not
- installed. Line 58 is ignored. Press Enter to continue.
-
-
- is displayed. I haven't modified the CONFIG.SYS generated by
- installation in any way, though I did verify that the line
-
- DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VMOUSE.SYS
-
- is indeed in CONFIG.SYS and that the above file does exist in the
- specified directory.
-
-
- I was wondering if anyone had had a similar problem. My solution
- will be to return the mouse if I can't get it working in the next day
- or so, but I would really rather keep this model because it is very
- convenient for a portable.
-
-
- Thanks.
