- > You will get more response if you post to comp.os.os2.networking.
-
- Group has not shown up at our site yet.
-
- > You can e-mail me for more info on LAN Manager.
-
- Any info that you have would be appreciated. Esp. connectivity issues.
-
- > Are you thinking of upgrading the server, or workstations?
-
- In what manner... we are planning to upgrade the servers to OS/2 v2.0.
- Why? Because the machinery was swindled from some faculty lab and
- they want to run DOS/Windows apps. WE want to use it to house our 1.2Gb
- SCSI drive and provide LAN Manager/Database Manager/Printer Services.
- Part of the database is the SQL server.
-
- > Are you running LM 2.1
-
- Yes... at least right now we are running it on OS/2 v1.3.
-
- > and SQL on the same server,
-
- We will shortly.
-
- > do you have multiple servers?
-
- We will have two servers. One feeding and E-Net LAN and one feeding a
- token ring LAN. My (private agenda) hope is that the token ring server
- will get an E-Net card and be a second server for the E-Net and a
- gateway to the E-net for the token ring. (The E-Net has INTERNET access)
-
- The servers are identical... 486/33 EISA with 1.2Gb SCSI.

- Ps. My role is as technical gearhead and grad. student. After setting
- it up I have to explain it to the technical staff, since I am not supposed
- to be the one managing this stuff. But it's fun anyway.
