- If your motherboard will recognize it, it should be very helpful. Consider the
- following hypothetical but probably reasonable memory allocation:

- 3 MB needed to just load things that have to be in memory.
- 1 MB available for transient/swappable data.

- In other words, adding 1 MB might double your transient/swappable data area.

- I stress that the above analysis uses hypothetical numbers -- but there is
- some hard-core stuff that MUST be in memory, so that the conclusion that
- increasing RAM by 25% will increase AVAILABLE RAM [and performance] by more
- than 25% is sound.
