- After posting my original question, and trying all suggestions, I was unable
- to create a RAM disk for an individual DOS session. RAMDRIVE.SYS (PC-DOS 5.0)
- does NOT work (error msg saying block device drivers not supported).
-
- The reason I wanted to created a RAM disk in a virtual DOS session was to
- speed-up some programs that do not use EMS or XMS memory. These programs
- will use a RAM disk instead of paging data to the hard disk. Since I have
- 8-Mbof RAM I wanted to devote some of this to speeding up these programs
- but did not want to allocate the RAM on a permanent basis. I am still
- hoping to find a solution. Any suggestions?
