- When trying to use a DOS version FAX software, one may encounter such a
- situation: only one short page can be sent out, and if the page is long,
- the massage "NO CARRIER" always appears before the machine finishes sending
- it. For instance, BITFAX (V.3.07.x). You can do everything the FAQ and TNT
- or README tell you to do to try to correct it, but no success. You can also
- try to lower the transmission speed, e.g., from 9600 to 4800 or even 2400,
- but still bad luck. Recently I read one of these OS/2 groups and found
- that Mr. Sipples has a solution: change MAXWAIT=3 or whatever to MAXWAIT=1
- in the CONFIG.SYS. I tried and succeeded in sending fax out at 9600. However,
- that version of BITFAX cannot start its receiving routine because it causes
- a trap under OS/2 although there is no problem in using it under DOS.
