- Well, the Windows 3.1 (and i think 3.0) is structured, you can't have a comm
- 4 without a comm 1-3 already containing active divices. (ie. a serial port,
- mouse, modem, etc.) So if you don't have something connected to com3 windows
- will choke.

- If you do have com1-3 used, i suggest you check the irq settings in the
- control panel|ports|com#|advanced settings box. you might have a conflict
- with com2 if 2 and 4 are using the same irq (that's the default configuration.
