- I have following problem:
- I am running Windows 3.1 and Dos 5.0 in 386-40 with 4 M ram and Windows is giving me
- following error all the time
-
- xxxx caused general protection failure... closing application
-
- This happens with almost every program and at any time.
- Furthermore I am not able to start any DOS-application in 386 enhanced mode,
- but in standard mode I can. In enhanced mode windows tells me that I do not
- have enough memory, but when I look how much I have free system resources It
- tells me that I have over 5 Megs free.
- Could this be due to this AMD processor or perhaps problem is with the AMI bios
- settings? Could somebody who has this AMD 386-40 processor and fully functional
- windows running send to me his bios settings? My bios is dated 7.7.91.
